Here at Greenwoods Hotel we know that a couple’s wedding day is the most important day of a couple’s life; therefore, we make sure it is the most important day of ours too. We are proud to say that every member of staff cares about making sure our couples get the perfect day they have always dreamt of.

We have two separate venues for weddings here at Greenwoods, one for smaller, intimate weddings and one for larger, but just as personal, weddings. Our library and boardroom suites are part of the original 17th Century manor house and are perfect for weddings up to 50 guests. It is styled in keeping with the 17th century décor of the main hotel and is a wonderfully warm and traditional space for couples looking to have a more low-key day. Our Garden Suite is a brand new building with a private entrance, bar and terrace, that allows for up to 300 guests. The state-of-the-art new build can be used to hold the ceremony, wedding breakfast and
evening entertainment all in one place. The Garden Suite’s more modern décor allows couples to style the room to their themes and preferences creating the wedding day they’ve always imagined.

We have held weddings in the hotel for 14 years, but our new Garden Suite has been open and holding weddings for 3 years and can accommodate up to 250 for a sit down meal. For weddings in our Library suite, we can accommodate up to 40 guests for a sit down meal.

We provide all of the catering here at Greenwoods onsite in our brand new, state-of-the-art, kitchen. Our Head Chef has put together several different food options, including 3 different wedding breakfast menus, a BBQ menu, and an extensive buffet and a hog roast to ensure our couples get exactly what they want. Our Chefs are always happy to tailor the menus for dietary requirements and restrictions and love a challenge; we are always happy to cater for quirky extras. We have three separate structures at the hotel that are registered to perform civil ceremonies:

  • The first is our library suite, located inside in the original 17th century manor house.
  • The second is in our Garden Suite, our brand-new function venue.
  • The third is our outside Gazebo, located at the far end of our beautiful gardens.

Our in-house coordinators are there for the couples, from the second they book a show-round, until the moment they have their first dance. It is the coordinator who takes the couple on their very first tour of the venue, discusses with them what they can do to make sure they have a perfect day and talks them through the booking process.

Once a couple has booked, that coordinator is available to them whenever they need, by phone or by email, to make sure they feel confidant and comfortable at all times. They are there to offer advice about suppliers, or answer any questions about how the day may run. Additionally, they set up a stage payment plan to make any payments less daunting. The couple can schedule in as many meetings with their coordinator as they feel they need before a final planning meeting, which is held 4-6 weeks before their wedding date. During this meeting our wedding coordinators run through the whole day, from start to finish, to make sure our couples and their families are happy and prepared.

On the day, their coordinator is there first thing in the morning to set up the room with any decorations the couple may have, to lay out any favours/gifts and to organise any suppliers, such as florists, bands, sweet carts etc. The coordinator takes the couple to see the registrar, seats the guests and takes the bride to the aisle to get married. They also take care of any last minute jitters! They oversee food and drinks service, do any announcing duties if there is no toastmaster present, make sure any evening suppliers, such as a band or a DJ, are set up ready to go, announce the first dance and then oversee the cutting of the cake. The wedding coordinator on the day always goes up to the couple’s bedroom and just tidies it up a bit, taking away any dirty glasses, hanging up clothes in the wardrobe etc. They also leave a congratulations card from themselves and the Greenwoods team and a small gift for the couple to keep. When all that is done, they congratulate the couple one last time before handing over to the function manager.

We have 39 bedrooms here at the hotel that we offer to couples for their guests. All of our rooms can be single or double occupancy, with some able to have extra beds added to them and some able to be twinned. Wedding guests get a discounted rate when booking rooms for the night of the wedding. We also offer all of the couples that book with us a complimentary stay in one of our bridal suites the night of their wedding.

All of our wedding quotes are bespoke—we don’t do any set packages—to ensure that couples are not restricted when trying to create their perfect day. We also offer complimentary chair sashes with every quote, to give the room a pop of colour in keeping with our couples themes and colour schemes. With a set venue hire being the only thing that is fixed (every other extra is adjustable per person) we ensure our couples are getting exactly what they need for their wedding and not paying for any unnecessary extras.
