Swinfen Hall

Swinfen Hall is a beautifully maintained Georgian manor house set within 100 acres of grounds. The Hall is grade II* listed and steeped in history – from the parlour maid who hit the National press over her fight for the right to inherit the Hall to the heiress who eloped a few weeks before her 21st birthday just as her parents were finishing the build of our magnificent Ballroom for her birthday celebrations.

Couples have a choice of rooms for civil ceremonies, all with beautiful period features. The majority of our brides (and some grooms) choose to stay the night before so they can have a relaxing wedding morning – and occasionally a family supper the night before the wedding too!

The gardens are award-winning and last year were filmed by the BBC as part of the cities in bloom series. In Summer, drinks receptions are held on the cocktail terrace overlooking the ornamental ponds and private deer park, whilst in Winter roaring log fires and glittering chandeliers in the reception rooms set the scene for a cosy and romantic affair.

Our restaurant was awarded its third AA rosette in 2015, so fine food is at the heart of everything we do. Our status as a red star hotel means our team is dedicated to delivering a phenomenal level of guest care, with the high level of commitment and attention to detail necessary to deliver a dream wedding.

For the evening celebrations our Edwardian ballroom offers an integrated fully sprung dance floor, a raised stage idea for a band or DJ, a large adjoining bar (originally the Billiards room of the Hall) and a private courtyard garden complete with an outside bar.

At the end of the night guests can retire to one of 17 luxurious bedrooms and suites, whilst the wedding couple have the use of our magnificent Honeymoon Suite, complete with a canopied king size bed and jacuzzi bath.
